Edward specialises in contractual disputes having represented clients in the High Court and Court of Appeal in London as well as in arbitral forums. Edward acts for corporate entities, owners, charterers, underwriters, and P&I insurers. He has also completed a client secondment with a European listed company in the generalist role of in-house counsel.

In addition to general commercial litigation, Edward handles marine claims and investigations involving collisions, explosions and fires, salvage and general average, coverage advice and charterparty disputes.

Acting for charterers and P&I insurers and advising accordingly in respect of an onboard explosion. Working across the investigation phases, co-ordinating evidence and managing subsequent contractual and tortious claims.

Container ship fire

Acting for owners, charterers and P&I insurers in respect of a major ship fire and managing the contractual and non-contractual disputes arising across a variety of jurisdictions.

Claim for off-hire and damages

Acting for charterers in respect of a multi-million pound off-hire and damages claim following engine breakdown.

Marine construction claim

Acting for a multi-national shipbuilder in respect of an oil rig construction dispute including at arbitration.

Cargo dispute

Acting for charterers and sellers of cargo in a dispute over the decline in cargo quality. Co-ordinating evidence and advising on claim as appropriate.
