After studying law in the University of Panthéon-Assas in Paris and at the University of Oxford, she trained and qualified as a solicitor with Stephenson Harwood and worked as an associate in the finance department for almost nine years. She became a consultant specialised in ship finance in 2016.
Danae has worked on various types of ship financings (commercial loans, ECA-backed loans and finance leasing), restructurings, shipbuilding transactions, sale and purchase transactions and tax lease structures.
Since becoming a consultant, Danae has been supporting the ship finance team with legal training (both internal and for clients), kept the team up-to-date on relevant legal developments, drafted template documentation and guidance notes and been responsible for knowledge management relating to ship finance.
Danae is one of the authors of the fourth edition of Stephenson Harwood's Ship Finance Practical Handbook and has also written various articles relating to LIBOR transition, green finance and DAC6.
