Bethan is an associate in our restructuring and insolvency team who advises on matters encompassing a number of sectors. Bethan has experience of insolvency litigation (both corporate and individual) and corporate restructurings.

Bethan advises clients in various sectors, including insolvency office holders, banks and corporates. She is involved in acting on both court driven procedures and corporate restructurings.

Bethan has acted on proceedings before the High Court and Court of Appeal in relation to Insolvency Act applications and related litigation. This has included litigation arising in connection with corporate restructurings and insolvencies and personal insolvency.

She has also advised on restructurings of corporates of varying sizes across numerous sectors and jurisdictions.

Toys R Us

Advising the administrators of the English entities on a range of matters in the administration including issues arising from aspects of the US Chapter 11 proceedings, and certain pension related matters.

Bell Pottinger group

Acting for the administrators/liquidators of the English entities within the Bell Pottinger group following the PR firm's collapse into administration, and subsequent liquidation, after a media scandal.

Peak Hotels and Resorts Limited (in liquidation)

Advising liquidators on English aspects of this BVI liquidation of Peak Hotels, a partner in a JV which formerly owned the prestigious Aman Resorts, including recognition in England, security issues and claims.

BiFab

Acting for the main and largest stakeholder on the multi-million pound rescue of Scottish engineering company Burntisland Fabrications Limited.

Style Group Brands Limited

Acting on attempted restructuring of an underperforming fashion retailer through right-sizing of the business and/or the disposal of some of its brands. Then acting on the administration due to further financial deterioration.

Tomlinson Report

Acting on a number of litigious matters associated with the publication of the Tomlinson Report, including in relation to various claims against insolvency practitioners for alleged breach of fiduciary duty, negligence and breach of contract.

Trustee in Bankruptcy

Acting for a trustee in bankruptcy in bringing a claim against the bankrupt pursuant to s.423 Insolvency Act 1986 for transactions defrauding creditors.
