Alexander is a Fellow of INSOL International and holds a specialist qualification in insolvency awarded by the HKICPA. He sits on the Insolvency Law Committee of the Law Society of Hong Kong. Alexander is among the first batch of Hong Kong lawyers to have passed the examination requirements for legal practice in the Greater Bay Area.

In the restructuring and insolvency market, he regularly advises officeholders, financial institutions distressed companies as well as company directors. Alexander is said to be "calm, measured, and detail-oriented." and "has in-depth knowledge of Hong Kong insolvency and restructuring laws " (Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2021). Alexander is ranked in the 2021 IFLR 1000 as a rising star partner in restructuring and insolvency.

Alexander is also experienced in shareholder disputes, defamation cases as well as construction and arbitration claims. Alexander holds a number of ADR accreditations. He is a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb), an accredited mediator on the panel of the Law Society of Hong Kong, as well as a mediator and arbitrator on the panel of eBRAM (an online dispute resolution centre). Prior to joining the legal profession, Alexander worked as a civil engineer.  

Outside his job, Alexander has taken up appointments as members of government tribunals. He served as a panel member of the Appeal Panel (Housing) from 2016 to 2022. Currently, he is a panel member of  the Resolvability Review Tribunal.

He is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Acting for the liquidators in all aspects of the liquidation.  This includes cross border asset stripping investigations, accounts receivable claims and garnishee proceedings, as well as the sale of a portfolio of properties worth over HK$ 3 billion comprising of commercial and residiential properties, listed shares and structured products.

U A Cinema Circuit Limited

Acting for the provisional liquidators in all aspects of the liquidation, in particular on the sale of cinema assets and the tenancies at various cinema premises.

Days group of companies

Acting for the liquidators in a series of contentious matters including a professional negligence claim against the auditors, misfeasance proceedings against company officers and disclosure applications against financial institutions and related parties for documents and information.

Personal bankruptcy matters

Acted for the bankruptcy trustees in applications for income payments order and sale of a property as the advocate at all the court hearings in a bankruptcy matter. 

Acted for a bankrupt in a matter involving individual voluntary arrangement and annulment of bankruptcy order.

French apparel group

Acted for the liquidators of the Hong Kong entity of a French apparel group in all aspects of the liquidation.

Furniture company group

Acted for the liquidators and successfully obtained a judgment against a director of about HK$100 million.

Acted for a petitioning creditor against an offshore incorporated company listed  in Hong Kong with its main business in Mainland China

Acting for a high net worth individual against a global international bank in a mis- selling claim

Acted for a global bank in a massive cross border trade credit fraud of over US$89 million, taking out Mareva injunctions, disclosure and tracing orders and proprietary claims against multiple defendants and appointment of provisional liquidators.

Acted for one of the defendants in a massive cross border matter in which an entity of a global lense manufactuer was defrauded a sum of over US$ 120 million

Acted for a major bank in its capacity as the trustee of the shares of minority shareholders in a shareholders’ dispute.

Acted for an Australian pharmaceutical company in enforcing overseas judgments against a company in Hong Kong.

Acted for a TV station in a number of defamation claims as both plaintiff and defendant.

Acted for a weekly magazine in defending a defamation claim.

Acted for a Taiwanese construction company in an international arbitration against a Singapore company in relation to a turnkey construction contract and the appeal proceedings in Hong Kong.
