Alex has extensive experience in all aspects of charterparty disputes (such as demurrage, cargo contamination and other cargo claims, hire disputes and delivery/redelivery disputes), having acted for both Owners and Charterers relation to disputes involving bulkers, tankers and gas carriers, and has gained closer knowledge of the industry through secondments with both owning and chartering clients, and an International Group P&I Club.

He has acted in a number of high-value shipbuilding disputes, as well as being closely involved with drafting and negotiating other shipbuilding contracts, including offshore pollution response vessels to be constructed in both Chinese and Singaporean yards. He has also advised in relation to contentious aspects of shipping finance, and has represented clients on a number of ship enforcement actions.

In recent years Alex has been increasingly working in the offshore market, both providing advice to clients in relation to offshore charterparty disputes and being heavily involved in a high-value and complex FPSO refurbishment dispute.

"Alex McCue is noteworthy, bright and very capable."
