Alberta Longanesi Cattani Juriste

Alberta is a dual-qualified solicitor in both England and Ireland and part of the firm's ship finance group. She is also part of the decarbonisation, yacht and superyacht teams. She is native Italian, from Venice, and practiced maritime law in London for over a decade. She joined Stephenson Harwood's Paris office in January 2024 from another prominent maritime firm where she was a senior associate.

Alberta's recent experience in non-contentious ship finance matters includes advising buyers, sellers and financial institutions on sale and leaseback transactions, construction contracts, charterparties, sale and purchase of new and second-hand vessels and yachts, and related company incorporation and management arrangements.

She also has extensive shipping litigation experience, including advising on a range of arbitration and High Court disputes, with a particular focus on sale contracts, construction contracts and charterparties.

Alberta's areas of interest include ESG and the decarbonisation of the shipping industry and is part of the firm's decarbonisation team. She is also part of the yacht and superyacht practice group and regularly advises on non-contentious matters in the sector. She joined the Paris office in January 2024 from another prominent maritime firm where she was a senior associate.

Alberta is a board member of the Global Alliance of Impact Lawyers (GAIL) and involved in acceleration programs supporting the development of innovative projects in the field of sustainability, with a particular focus on ocean sustainability.
