Ahmed is a bilingual English qualified associate in the firm’s Dubai office. He specialises in commercial, maritime, international trade and insurance dispute resolution, as well as international arbitration. With over six years of experience, he has worked in international law firms in both the UAE and KSA.

Ahmed boasts a diverse local and international practice, having gained invaluable experience through his education in the United Kingdom, working as a paralegal at an international law firm in Saudi Arabia, and subsequent relocation to Dubai in 2017.

Ahmed advises on a broad spectrum of contentious matters for clients spanning industries such as shipping, international trade, insurance, energy and employment, as well as general commercial litigation throughout the region. He has significant experience representing clients in both civil and criminal proceedings before various judicial bodies including onshore UAE Courts, DIFC Courts and other GCC Courts, as well as in DIAC and LMAA arbitration proceedings.

In addition to his contentious practice, Ahmed advises on a range of commercial shipping matters. He has significant experience in supporting on numerous ship sale and purchase transactions, advising clients on the entire process, from initial negotiations through to final delivery.

Ahmed's recognition in the market is evidenced by his recent nomination for the 'Most Promising Newcomer Award - Private Practice' at the 2024 Middle East Legal Awards.

Advising a P&I Club in respect of repatriation of crew members stranded onboard vessels abandoned by their owners in UAE ports, followed by commencing class action on behalf of the crew to recover wages and provisions incurred by the Club.

Advising one of the largest container shipping companies in the world and time charterers of a vessel and carrier, in respect of liabilities for cargo claims brought by UAE based shippers following grounding of the vessel in Turkey and advising on potential limitations of liability.

Acting for a charterer in concurrent arbitrations with the head owner and sub-charterer relating to damage to gangway and non-payment of hire before the Singapore Centre for Maritime Arbitration.

Advising an international shipping line on the implications of the presentation of a forged bill of lading under UAE and English law following delivery at Jebel Ali Port.

Advising re-insurers on claims for damage to a subsea pipeline in Qatar which is jointly owned by several international oil and gas companies.

Acting for an international utility company on disputes with a joint venture partner arising from a contracting agreement entered into between the joint venture partner and the UAE Ministry of Interior for installation of AC equipment.

Advising an international construction company on multi-million-dollar claims brought by its creditors, banks and former shareholders in the UAE and defending various creditor driven bankruptcy applications brought before the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Courts.

Advising the widow of a British high-net-worth individual in a multi-million-pound English court proceeding, governed by Egyptian law, brought against an Egyptian hotel operator for negligent acts which caused a road traffic accident that resulted in the demise of her husband.
