In one of the largest disputes of the past decade, the ongoing multi-faceted Tchenguiz litigation, we have achieved a series of victories including securing jurisdiction against Kaupthing Bank Hf and a successful Judicial Review challenge against the SFO.

TPG Specialty Lending, Inc.

We advised TPG Specialty Lending (TPG) on the English aspects of a financing for Marlin Equity Partners' SEK443m acquisition of IBS AB, a leading global company offering integrated ERP, WMS and supply chain solutions. We also advised TPG Specialty Lending on the English financing aspects of Eli Global's acquisition of Helix Health (a leading provider of pharmacy and practice management software across the UK and Ireland) and Socrates Healthcare.

Next Energy Solar Fund

We advised Next Energy Solar Fund's subsidiaries in relation to a two year substantial revolving loan facility with Macquarie Bank Limited, London Branch (as lender). The purpose of the facility was to fund the costs of acquiring, constructing and commissioning solar PV projects in England and Wales.

LIBOR and FX Spot manipulation allegations 

Advised financial institutions and high net worth individuals involved in LIBOR and FX Spot manipulation allegations on complex issues of legal privilege, whistleblowing and employee incentives, including successfully litigating on these issues.

Board of the Pension Protection Fund ("PPF"), dispute on compensation

Represented the PPF in an ongoing dispute, effectively seeking to challenge the scope of PPF compensation (Grenville Holden Hampshire v The Board of the Pension Protection Fund [2014]).

DNB Bank ASA and Mizuho Corporate Bank

We acted for both banks for the US$608 million restructuring of the 2011 joint venture vehicle established by Teekay Corporation and Marubeni Corporation for the acquisition of AP Moeller-Maersk's LNG shipping business.

Piramal Healthcare UK Limited

We advised Piramal in relation to a £20 million term, revolving and receivables financing provided by HSBC Bank plc.

Cofely GDF Suez

Advising Cofely GDF Suez (one of the world's largest energy companies) on the acquisition of Lend Lease's UK facilities management business. We advised Cofely GDF Suez on all legal aspects of the acquisition, including tax, pensions and projects. 

Financial Reporting Council

Advising in relation to the public interest cases brought by the FRC and its predecessor, the Joint Disciplinary Scheme, including representing a Big 4 firm where the adequacy of its audit of the a global investment bank was questioned.
