We have adopted a charity of the year scheme to focus our charitable work in a meaningful way, as well as taking part in other charitable projects which are important to our employees.

Charity of the year

We have adopted a "charity of the year" programme to raise valued additional funds for the charity concerned by giving a focus for collective and individual charitable fund-raising.

We are delighted to partner with the Whitechapel Mission as the firm's current charity of the year. The Whitechapel Mission has been serving the homeless and marginalised since 1876. It supports men and women caught in the cycle of poverty. This takes two main forms: meeting immediate needs, such as food, shelter, clothing, and medical care, and helping with longer-term needs for life-skills and job skills training, as well as encouraging each person to address the issues which caused their homelessness. The centre supports as many as 300 people a day.

We will support the Whitechapel Mission both in terms of providing financial contributions to their efforts, and through volunteering time. The firm has already pledged an initial financial donation, and will be matching funds raised by employees throughout the duration of the partnership. One of the primary reasons that the Whitechapel Mission was chosen as the firm's charity partner was the range of practical volunteering opportunities in which supporters are able to take part.

“We are delighted to partner with the Whitechapel Mission as the firm’s new charity of the year. The charity is a great choice for us to support both through our fundraising efforts and through volunteering our staff time, particularly given the meaningful programme of events that the Whitechapel Mission has suggested we get involved with. We anticipate an action packed programme from day one and very much look forward to working with the charity over the coming months.”

Other charitable activities

We donate money to a variety of charities, NGOs and good causes, take part in a variety of charitable activities and encourage pay roll giving.

Previously, for example, we entered a team in the London Legal Walk to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust and a team in the static bike challenge for the Lord Mayor's City Giving Day.

More recently, we sponsored a partnership between the China Chamber of Commerce in the UK and The Lord Mayor's Appeal to raise funds for The Lord Mayor's Appeal (50%) and a rural school in Shaanxi Province, China (50%). It will support the construction of a multi-media room that will enable the students a place to host events and video conferences as well as other educational activities.
