He has extensive experience of High Court litigation, multi-jurisdiction disputes, particularly in the United States; arbitrations before the ICC, LCIA and LMAA; and dispute resolution through mediation.
Offshore oil and gas
Tony is ranked as a leading individual in the main UK legal directories in the areas of energy insurance, and projects and energy disputes.
Tony regularly advises a range of well known companies in the offshore oil and gas sector.
He has a particular focus on assisting with drafting terms during negotiations. He also represents clients in disputes whether in international arbitrations or in the High Court - connected with cost overruns, delays and disruption, design issues, force majeure, liability and industrial accidents.
Shipbuilding and offshore construction
Tony advises on shipbuilding contracts and disputes arising under them.
He has particular expertise in contracts for construction of high value specialist assets such as drilling rigs or offshore production systems.
Marine and energy
Tony advises on coverage issues and recoveries on a range of specialist policies including energy; offshore construction; hull and machinery, liability, P&I, war and terrorism risks, and political risks.
He has successfully litigated or arbitrated a number of disputes in these areas.
Competition
Tony has also advised and acted for clients on civil claims arising from alleged infringement of anti-trust and competition regulations.
Shipping
Tony trained at a well known admiralty firm and has experience of advising on a wide range of shipping issues including charterparties, bills of lading, cargo claims, collisions and salvage.
