Audrey is an intellectual property partner specialising in advising technology and pharmaceutical companies on IP disputes and transfer and licence of technology in Hong Kong and China.

Audrey advises clients on protection and exploitation of intellectual property rights and conducts and manages complex IP litigation in Hong Kong and China.  She also advises clients on technology export and import issues and other related regulatory issues in China, assists clients to review and draft commercial agreements including software licence agreements, manufacturing agreements, technology transfer agreements and agreements concerning the exploitation of intellectual property rights and handles the IP related issues in mergers and acquisitions in Hong Kong and China.  Her clients include pharmaceutical, software, online game and high-tech companies and financial institutions.

Patent disputes

Audrey has been advising on and handling patent disputes in the last 10 years.  She has participated in a number of significant multi-jurisdiction patent disputes involving leading mobile communication companies, pharmaceutical companies, and IT hardware companies.  She is currently advising a patent owner in a claim against multiple telecommunication network operators, and a mobile communication company in a patent dispute.

Complex China IP litigation

Audrey has substantial experience in handling IP disputes in China.  Besides advising on the IP legal issues, she also works with her clients to devise the best strategies to handle their disputes and litigation in China including selection of the right court, managing and working with local agents and lawyers, ensuring actions taken in China are in line with the client's overseas interests (e.g. legal privilege) or overseas law (e,g, Foreign Corrupt Practice Act), and adopting alternative measures to achieve more effective results.

Copyright and design infringement action

Audrey has a special interest in advising on IP issues relating to the computer and software industry.   She has recently acted for one of the world's leading on-line game companies in the largest copyright dispute in China.

Technology and patent transfer and licensing

Audrey also specialises in providing IP advice and drafting commercial IP agreements involving the transfer of technology, know-how and patents and other IP rights for clients and have been involved in advising on IP issues arising out of a number of high profile mergers and acquisitions including the sale of the personal computer business of the world's leading computer hardware company, and the sale of microprocessor business of the world's leading electronics company.
