Stephenson Harwood joins Project WeCan

Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP has joined Project WeCan, a business-in-community initiative supporting school children in Hong Kong.

Launched in 2011, Project WeCan helps disadvantaged secondary school students in pursuing higher studies and future careers by providing opportunities to improve their performance. It focuses on teaching, extra-curriculum development, conduct and behaviour, life-goal planning, as well as support, care and counselling, and is supported through the financial and volunteering commitment of corporate partners.

"Project WeCan is a brilliant initiative and I'm really looking forward to working with the students of Hong Kong Teachers' Association Lee Heng Kwei Secondary School, alongside colleagues from our Hong Kong office," said Elton Chan, a partner in Stephenson Harwood's Hong Kong office. "Being able to support the development of young people, to encourage them to make the most of the opportunities available, is an exciting prospect."

Project WeCan has extended its support from 14 to 75 schools since its launch, with more than 66,000 students currently standing to benefit. Each school is coupled with a partner in a multi-year collaboration and Stephenson Harwood, the first law firm to join the initiative, will be working with the Hong Kong Teachers' Association Lee Heng Kwei Secondary School.
