Next month the government will bring into force two new pieces of flexible working legislation: (1) the right to request time to train; and (2) the right to additional paternity leave and pay. Here, we examine the key features of these new pieces of legislation and, with the next general election just around the corner, look at what the main opposition parties are saying they will do in respcet of family friendly employment law rights if, come election day, they are sitting in the hot seat.
