Paul is a registered foreign lawyer within our Hong Kong corporate team with over eight years’ experience in corporate/commercial work, with a particular focus on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, energy and joint venture transactions.

Paul has represented multinational conglomerate companies, venture capital and private equity firms and start-up companies in a wide range of corporate/commercial work, with a particular focus on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity, energy and joint venture projects, and some high-profile cross-border disputes.  He has represented clients across a broad range of industries, including information technology, gaming, financial services, engineering and construction, energy, retail and consumer products.

Prior to joining the firm, Paul practiced with Goodwin Procter and DR & AJU and had also worked for Chief Justice Gerry Alexander in the Washington State Supreme Court.

Paul holds a J.D. degree from Boston College law school and also an undergraduate degree from the business school at Seoul National University.  Paul is admitted to practice as an Attorney in the State of New York and as a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Hong Kong.

Advised a Korean sovereign wealth fund in its co-investment alongside a private equity partner in a US$600 million acquisition of a logistics company in the U.S.

Subscription of convertible bonds issued by Hong Kong telecommunication business

Advised Korea-based financial services companies and private equity firms in their subscription of convertible bonds issued by a Hong Kong telecommunication company.
