A real estate lawyer with particular experience acting for financial institutions in real estate finance transactions. In addition, Patrick also advises investor clients and insolvency practitioners on property acquisitions and disposals and on the real estate aspects of corporate transactions.

Patrick regularly advises lender clients, primarily major financial institutions, on the real estate aspects of both investment and development finance transactions. These matters range from single asset financings/re-financings to large property portfolio transactions and include both bilateral and syndicated facilities. Patrick's experience in this sector has also included a 7 month in-house secondment with HSBC Corporate Bank's real estate team.

In the field of property investment, Patrick has acted for clients on direct property acquisitions and disposals (including multi-site sale and leaseback agreements) and on related asset management matters. He has also acted for a number of administrators and administrative receivers on property disposals and provided corporate support on the real estate aspects of company acquisitions and disposals.

Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. £400 million financing

Advising Wells Fargo on a facility made available to Henderson Retail Warehouse Fund, secured against a portfolio of shopping centres and warehouses valued at circa £1 billion. Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. acted as agent and Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., Aareal Bank and Helaba as lenders.

Wells Fargo £150 million financing

Advised on the financing for the acquisition of the Amber property portfolio by a Clearbell-managed fund. The acquisition included 29 retail, industrial and office assets across the UK which were financed with £70 million equity and a debt of circa 65% LTV from Wells Fargo.

8 Bank £635 million financing of the Mount Eden portfolio

Advising HSBC, Helaba, Credit Agricole, Barclays, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, RBS, Santander and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Europe on the financing of the Mount Eden commercial property portfolio. The portfolio comprises over 100 properties in and around Oxford Street and Great Portland Street and is currently valued at just under £1.5 billion.
