Lilian is a finance associate specialising in shipping finance, particularly in relation to advising leading banks on bilateral and syndicated transactions, including the financing and refinancing of second hand vessels and new buildings.

Lilian has experience in restructuring and work-out transactions including rescheduling of facilities, and subordination arrangements. She also assists owners in respect of sale and purchase of vessels, deposit and closing arrangements. Lilian particularly advises clients in relation to S&Ps of yachts and other private and commercial pleasure vessels.

In addition, Lilian also advises on Greek law matters including the preparation of security over real and personal property, relating to shipping finance transactions and Greek law due diligence matters.

She holds a degree in law from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master of Laws in Maritime Law from the National University of Singapore.

Advising on complex ship finance restructurings with numerous jurisdictions involved and with certain emphasis on Greek law aspects.

Dutch bank

Acting for a Dutch bank in relation to a US$21 million syndicated cross-collateralised facility where the borrower bareboat chartered its vessel to a third party Brazilian bareboat charterer under the Brazilian flag.

German bank

Acting for a German bank, in its capacity as lender, agent, swap provider and security agent, in relation to a syndicated facility for the re-financing of a bulk-carrier vessel registered in the ownership of a Turkish borrower forming part of a major Turkish conglomerate active in shipping and shipbuilding, including advising on a security structure involving Turkish, Marshall Islands and Maltese corporate guarantors, personal guarantees, shares pledges, and mortgages. The deal included interesting questions regarding the concept of "trust" structures and "parallel debt" principles and priority issues.

German bank

Acting for a German bank in relation to a $30 million syndicated facility in relation to the refinancing of 2 product tankers owned by a major Turkish group, involving complex Turkish law aspects including stamp duty issues.

Lilian forms part of the Greek law team and works on Greek law matters for clients of the firm's international offices.


Drafting Greek law preferred mortgage security and account pledges over accounts located in Greece and Greek law shares pledge (registered and bearers shares) under loan facilities governed by English law, including the translation and, where required, registration of such security.

Greek inheritance law

Advising in relation to Greek inheritance law and probate matters for a British national with property based in Greece, including advising in relation to the closure of bank accounts and sale of property.

Conducting searches

Conducting registry, court and company searches in relation to real property and Greek registered vessels at the relevant registries in Greece.

Sale and purchase of yachts

Providing legal advice and practical guidance in all aspects of yacht and superyacht ownership, sale, purchase, finance and management.

Greek mortgages

Assisting various Banks with Greek Mortgage discharges upon repayment or prepayment of loan facilities.
