John is a member of Stephenson Harwood's commercial litigation practice and specialises in financial litigation, contentious regulatory matters and fraud and asset tracing. 

John advises both corporate and individual clients. Notable high profile instructions include the Libyan Investment Authority in its internal authority-related dispute and connected matters; HSBC in its defence of multiple FOS/High Court claims brought against the bank concerning the sale of interest rate protection products; British Arab Commercial Bank in relation to the Algosaibi/Saad-related litigation and in relation to the release of monies from the Libyan Embassy's bank accounts; Mukhtar Ablyazov in his defence of the multi-billion dollar dispute with BTA Bank and the State of Kazakhstan; Boris Berezovsky (in his multi-billion dollar claims against various entities connected to the Russian administration; and Martin Edwards, former Chairman and majority shareholder of Manchester United, in his multi-million dollar Ponzi-scheme case in the Commercial Court.
