Jide has broad experience of representing clients involved in disputes arbitration and litigation. Owing to his experience, he regularly advises clients contemplating or seeking to avoid disputes. He has significant experience of English High Court litigation and institutional arbitration, having managed many cases as the lead/sole associate.
Jide's practice is focussed on the oil and gas, offshore energy, marine insurance and shipbuilding sectors. He recently spent four months on secondment with one of Europe’s leading oil and gas service companies, where he advised on several issues relating to offshore construction and the interpretation of FPSO lease & operation agreements. Jide regularly speaks at offshore energy conferences.
Jide is a member of Stephenson Harwood’s Africa team. He qualified as a barrister of England and Wales and has a Masters degree in Petroleum Law and Policy. Prior to joining Stephenson Harwood, Jide worked for two years as assistant legal counsel at the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, where he provided legal and administrative support to arbitration tribunals involving States and State entities, primarily under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.
