Iris’ recent experience includes representing the Hong Kong Housing Authority in the Commission of Inquiry to Excess Lead Found in Drinking Water. 

Iris received her Bachelor of Laws degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and joined Stephenson Harwood as a trainee in 2013. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
 
  • Construction and engineering dispute resolution

Represented the Hong Kong Housing Authority in the Commission of Inquiry into Excess Lead in Drinking Water. The Commission hearing lasted for over 60 days, during which large volume of papers were discovered, reviewed and prepared, evidence of numerous parties given daily were monitored and assessed on an urgent basis, and extensive conferences were held with client and Counsel to provide advice on the position and strategy to adopt in the Inquiry. Further advised client on the way forward and steps to take following the issue of the Report of the Commission.

Assisted the Head of Construction in advising the Hong Kong Housing Authority in an arbitration commenced by a main contractor in respect of claims for delay, loss and expense and disputed variation etc.

Acted for a Hong Kong main contractor in an arbitration against a private developer in respect of claims for payment, delay and disputed value of variation and improvement works. The claimed amount exceeded HK$75 million.
