He has extensive experience acting in all civil and criminal Courts in Hong Kong. Ian was previously an inspector in the Royal Hong Kong Police Force and an assistant superintendent in the Republic of Singapore Police Force where he gained invaluable experience of criminal investigations from a law enforcement perspective.
Recent notable matters include obtaining judgments in excess of HK$150 million for a financial services company in liquidation and the successful enforcement of those judgments, defending the managing director of an asset management company against allegations of misconduct, misrepresentation and fraud, challenging probate in relation to a significant estate and advising an international airline amenity kits supplier about its trade and employment disputes.
Ian recently completed a 6 month secondment with The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited’s commercial banking legal team.
He regularly advises financial institutions about trade finance and asset recovery matters, in particular, factoring disputes.
Ian is also an active member of Hong Kong’s Duty Lawyer Service.
