Hayley is an associate in the employment team with significant experience advising corporate and individual clients, in various sectors, on all aspects of employment law.

On a daily basis Hayley advises employers on workplace issues such as disciplinaries and grievances, redundancies, performance and absence management as well as working with them to draft employment contracts, policies and procedures that reflect their values, with a particular interest in family friendly rights.

She also has a lot of experience in assisting individuals with workplace issues and negotiating service agreements and settlement agreements on their behalf. Hayley ​provides guidance to employers and individuals in Employment Tribunal disputes and has represented an employer in judicial mediation.

She supports our corporate team on the employment aspects of reorganisations, outsourcings, restructuring and mergers and acquisitions, including the application of the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006, providing guidance on the duties and obligations arising from it. 

During her time at Stephenson Harwood, she has completed a four month secondment to KPMG.

Tribunal jurisdiction 

Advising a client in the oil and gas industry on the successful defence of an unfair dismissal and breach of contract claim - whether the Tribunal had jurisdiction was a preliminary issue. 

Grievance 

Advising the UK branch of an overseas bank on a grievance raised against a senior manager.

TUPE and outsourcing

Advising on the TUPE implications of the outsourcing of the immigration checks and processes of an international computer software company.

Large scale redundancy exercise

Advising a financial services client on a large scale redundancy exercise involving collective consultation process.  

Settlement agreements

Advised a number of senior FCA regulated individuals on their exits following allegations of LIBOR manipulation.

Due diligence

Carrying out the employment due diligence on behalf of clients acquiring businesses via share and asset sales and negotiating the employment sections of the share purchase agreements or business sale agreements.
