Fotis is a finance associate specialising in shipping finance, particularly in relation to advising leading banks on bilateral and syndicated transactions, including the financing and refinancing of second hand vessels and new buildings.

He has experience in restructuring and work-out transactions including rescheduling of facilities, and subordination arrangements. He also assists owners in respect of sale and purchase of vessels, deposit and closing arrangements.

Fotis has a broad experience in Greek law commercial, civil and administrative matters.

He holds a degree in law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and has an LLM in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton.

Fotis advises banks and shipowners on ship finance restructurings (loan facilities, guarantees facilities, assignments of loan and security) with numerous jurisdictions.

Swiss bank

Advising on four secured multi-currency loan facilities made to Liberian and Marshall Island corporations forming part of a major Greek shipping group, and including the re-financing of two vessels, following their acquisition by the borrowers from a shipyard and the financing of the delivery instalment under the building contract of another two vessels. The vessels were registered under the Greek and Maltese flags and the facility included a multi-currency option relevant to the vessels' chartering commitments.

Norwegian shipping bank

Advising on the transfer of its portfolio security of Greek mortgages following the transfer of loan facilities between the bank's different legal entities.

French bank

Advising in relation to a facility granted to a Greek international shipping group, including cash flow and cash sweep provisions and security documentation relating to a vessel's change of flag from Liberia to Cyprus.

Conducting registry, court and company searches in relation to real property and Greek registered vessels at the relevant registries in Greece.
