Daryll is the managing partner at Virtus Law*. He specialises in marine and commercial dispute resolution. Qualified to practice both in Singapore and the UK, Daryll has appeared at all levels of the Singapore Court and has acted in numerous arbitrations.

After spending over 10 years in local Singapore practice, Daryll joined Stephenson Harwood in 2008 as an English qualified solicitor. He founded Virtus Law LLP in 2013 together with Arthur Loke. With the Stephenson Harwood (Singapore) Alliance, he offers Singapore law expertise in all aspects of commercial litigation and arbitration including insolvency, shipping and international trade.

Daryll has appeared at all levels in the Singapore Courts and is also regularly involved in SIAC, SCMA, ICC, LMAA and ad hoc arbitrations.

Advising a multi-national shipyard in respect of its US$123 million contract with a major shipping group with end user a national science agency, in respect of the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a dynamically positioned blue water research vessel.

Acting for financial institutions in enforcement actions for a US$30 million vessel facility.

Acting for coal traders in respect of a US$8 million arbitration.

Obtaining injunctions preventing payment out under bank guarantees.

Acting for financial institutions in the restructuring of shipbuilding agreements during the 2008 financial crisis. The total facility was worth over US$70 million.

Advising in respect of Rightship disputes.

Advising in respect of various insolvent Korean and Japanese vessel owners.
