Barthélemy acts on international commercial disputes, particularly on banking and insurance matters as well as in the energy and transportation sectors.

He has been involved in numerous major commercial disputes and has years of litigation experience in Africa, particularly on OHADA (Organisation pour l'Harmonisation du Droit des Affaires en Afrique) matters dealing with enforcement measures, securities and commercial rules. Barthélemy has been involved in several major disputes before commercial, employment and civil courts in Africa, mainly before the Courts of Chad and the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA, based in Abidjan).

Barthélemy speaks French and English and is a member of the Paris bar.

Representing an art dealer, purchaser of a Picasso original plaster sculpture "Bust of a woman" on behalf of a Qatari family, in his dispute regarding a breach of contract by the seller.

Representing a worldwide engineering and construction group in a dispute over the performance of a gas compression unit following the breakage of a valve component and guarantee action against the supplier of the valve.

Advising a major international bank on the recovery of a loan in default, including the arrest of a vessel in France.

Assisting a major bank in taking possession of a vessel in Togo and advice during seizure release proceedings before the Court of appeal of Lomé.

Advising an international bank in litigations against its insurers following the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars in two wide-scale frauds.

Representing a French bank against the hull insurers of a $10 million private jet arrested in South America after the discovery of a large quantity of cocaine on-board. This case is known under the name of Air Cocaine.

Representing a worldwide engineering and construction group and its insurer on a matter regarding the collapse of a balcony, an accident which severely injured a number of people.

Advising one of the leading engineering and construction groups on a complex dispute regarding costly repair work to a major gas pipe system, following incorrect advice from an expert surveyor. This dispute involved in part a first legal action against the client's insurers.
