Amir is an associate who principally acts for clients on commercial litigation and international arbitration matters.

Amir advises on a variety of institutional arbitration and English High Court proceedings, some of which include acting as lead/sole associate.  He has acted for clients in LCIA, ICC and ad-hoc arbitrations, and has also acted for clients in English High Court proceedings. 
Amir's international arbitration matters include acting for an African state-owned company on a ship drilling dispute (LCIA), a European energy conglomerate in a dispute involving electric power contracts (ICC) and a Middle-Eastern family office in a dispute relating to private investments in the GCC (LCIA). Amir also advises clients in drafting arbitration agreements.

Amir also has experience in English High Court proceedings, which include cases that have reached both the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. Notable matters include acting for a British-Iranian bank on a dispute related to UK/EU sanctions on Iran and for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in its long-running dispute against IPCO (Nigeria) Limited.

He has also gained significant commercial experience by spending time on secondment to the firm's Hong Kong office.

Acting for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation in defending against the enforcement in England of a US$345 million arbitration award under the New York Convention.

African state-owned entity – ad-hoc arbitration

Acting for a state-owned Kenyan company in ad-hoc arbitration proceedings brought against a Dutch respondent.
